Why You Need to Get to Washington Business Week

If the fact that more than 50,000 high school students have participated in Washington Business Week doesn’t convince you to attend, then here are a few other reasons:

  • Have Fun: You will learn a lot from this intensive experience, and you can also expect to have a great time! Some fun activities include dances, a talent show, a volleyball tournament, movies, exploring the campus, and just hanging out with new friends.
  • Live on Campus: Get a glimpse of college life, living in the dorms and eating college food.
  • Build Your Resume: Hundreds of businesses sponsor Washington Business Week by donating money and volunteering employee time. Their investment in this program is an investment in their future workforce. By having Washington Business Week on your resume you will stand out to future employers.
  • Improve Your College Application: Many colleges and universities screen applicants based on their involvement in programs like Washington Business Week. Having our program on your application is a definite boost. Plus, your Company Advisors might also write a referral letter to help you get into the college of your choice.
  • Win a College ScholarshipEvery year, PEMCO Financial Services honors four Business Week students each with a $3,600 scholarship to be used for any post-high school education in Washington State. The students are chosen based on growth and participation throughout the week.

What About Students Who Don’t Live in Washington or the Northwest?

Out-of-region students are welcome to attend our programs. Each summer we have a number of international students attend, too. Any student residing outside of Washington, Oregon, Idaho or Alaska will be required to pay the full program cost of $950, as the $625 student sponsorships are from Northwest businesses. Please contact the Business Week office at (253) 815-6900 to set-up a payment plan, if necessary. Your state may have a similar program - visit BizKids to learn more.

Washington Business Week offers high school students week-long summer camps and in-school programs during the academic school year. The teen summer program provides hands-on career training in business, healthcare, construction, and manufacturing. Summer camps are held throughout Washington (WA). Look for teen summer camps in Tacoma, Ellensburg, Bellingham and Spokane.  Washington Business Week and the Pathways are programs of the Foundation for Private Enterprise Education, a 501(c)(3) organization.
