An Exciting and Unique Experience for Montesano High School Juniors
Montesano Business Week is held in February at Montesano High School. At Montesano Business Week, high school juniors and faculty engage in discovery-based learning. Through hands-on learning in the Business Week simulation, student gain a vision of how math, science, English, technology, history, art and other curriculum will apply to their life after high school.
Volunteers from Grays Harbor businesses act as mentors for each student company as they move to compete against the other student companies. Competitions include a business simulation, a marketing and stockholder’s presentation and a trade show. By the fifth day, each student will have an appreciation of the “real world” workplace, improved leadership and teamwork skills, and increased self-confidence.
The Montesano School District and the Kelsey Foundation have joined forces to make this exceptional experience possible. The success of the Business Week program depends heavily on strong community support and the commitment of local volunteers.
